The best way to get the right GPS device is a comparison with the review of GPS well! There are too many producers and too many models to choose from. This becomes very confusing. You need a guide!
If you want to know what these marvelous devices do and how you can save money, then read on!
But first let the fact speak of GPS receivers.
There are a number of producers, but the first three are Garmin, Tom Tom and Magellan. Garmin is the top dog, Tom Tom is the new kid on the block, and Magellan was the company that originated the whole concept. All three make a great product! Which is good news. Because if you buy a device from one of these you can not go wrong.
The bad news is the following. All three make a great product! Which obviously makes it very difficult to know which model to buy.
I hope to give you a hand with this dilemma.
GPS has really taken over the last two years! And with gas prices so high, I'm sure the demand will only grow and grow.
To begin to truly understand what you buy, you need to know how these things to sell, what features are and how many improved features will cost. Let me sketch an answer to these questions.
GPS receivers sell anywhere from $ 150 to $ 1000. $ 150 Garmin and you get the basic unit of the Tom Tom. Purchase $ 1,000 of the top model in the line of Garmin, which has had a huge screen and all the bells and whistles.
All GPS units are as follows:
  * The touch screen interface
  * Auto-calculate the shortest or fastest
  * A database of Points of Interest (POI)
  * Vocal (but do not say street names!)
  * Maps of 48 United States
If you are interested only these basic features, then get something like the Garmin Nuvi 200 or Tom Tom One. These two people can do all this and more.
The more money you can get:
  * Maps of Alaska, Hawaii, Mexico and Canada
  * Big screen
  * Bluetooth
  * Traffic and weather delivered to you in real time
  * Database much larger POI
  * Ability to route to travel the same routes
You can get many of these upgrades for less than $ 350. The Garmin 660 is currently selling for just under $ 350 and can do everything above except the calculation of multiple paths. That a lot of GPS for the money!
Obviously, there is a certain amount of education you must go to buy your first or next GPS.
Although I am sure that this short review GPS comparison allows more, you need an information website where you can explore different makes and models and also have an idea of prices.
